Citizens join ‘3K Run for Lake’ in Saroornagar to support rejuvenation efforts

Thousands of citizens participated in the ‘3K Run for Lake’ organized at Saroornagar Lake on Sunday, May 17 to support the lake rejuvenation and beautification efforts undertaken by the Telangana government.

The event was organized by Telangana Congress Party spokesperson Daripally Rajashekar Reddy and witnessed the participation of residents, environmental activists, youth and families.

Participants gathered early in the morning around the lake grounds, with organizers describing the event as an effort to raise awareness of environmental protection and urban sustainability. Citizens participated in a run calling for the protection and restoration of water bodies in Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Reddy said the turnout reflected public support for ecological restoration and sustainable urban development. “Citizens and administration must work together to preserve the lakes and improve the city’s environmental conditions,” he said.

Officials present at the event emphasized the importance of public participation in conservation initiatives and emphasized the need for community involvement in the maintenance of urban water bodies.
