Chilling autopsy report in Noida dowry death case reveals ruptured spleen, blood clots in head, bruises

Noida dowry death case: A 24-year-old woman resident of Greater Noida allegedly committed suicide on Sunday, May 17 night after jumping from the roof of her house, police said on Monday. The deceased identified as Deepika Nagar of Kudi Khera village got married 14 months ago. She lived with her husband Hrithik, who hailed from Jalpura village, in the Ecotech-III area of Greater Noida.

Deepika’s father visited Hrithik’s house on Sunday. Less than an hour after he left the scene, he received a call about his daughter’s fatal fall. The victim’s father, Sanjay, in a statement to ANI said, “My daughter, Deepika, got married to Hrithik, son of Manoj of Jalpura village on 11 December 2024. However, just a few days after the wedding, they started harassing her for dowry. Just yesterday I went to their house and spoke to them and I spoke to them, who called me, in half an hour I left Manj. Deepika, she fell.”

According to her family, her husband and in-laws pressured her to get another dowry, even though it was an arranged marriage where the wedding ceremony included a dowry settlement that included a Fortuner SUV and a sum of one billion rupees. Desperate over alleged dowry-related harassment from her husband and in-laws, Deepika reportedly took the drastic step. DCP Central Noida, Shailendra Kumar Singh informed ANI that the husband and father-in-law of the deceased have been arrested.

According to the victim’s family, their daughter was continuously subjected to physical assault and psychological harassment. Deepika’s father filed a complaint and named Manoj (father-in-law), Kusum (mother-in-law), Hrithik (husband), Neha (sister-in-law), Netra (sister-in-law), Pramod (uncle) and Vinod, an in-law relative, in the FIR, Times Now reported.

Deepika succumbed to her injuries after the fatal fall and her body has been sent for post-mortem once all legal formalities are completed in the case. Two doctors performed an autopsy on the body, which was covered in bruises. A CNN-News18 report said the entire procedure was captured on video, revealing disturbing details of multiple serious external and internal injuries.

The victim’s uncle is demanding justice following the autopsy findings

On the status of the post-mortem report, the deceased victim’s uncle, Vishesh Nagar, said, “There are no fractures on her dead body. There are many marks on her body and it appears that she was attacked… There is a huge injury near the abdomen, apparently caused by a bullet or a knife. There was a serious head injury… Authorities told me that her internal organs were completely damaged… Authorities told me that her internal organs were completely damaged.

Demanding justice and strict action against all the accused, he added, “Initially we did not know that the father-in-law owned illegal property on government land… This is clearly a case of murder… She was brutally tortured…. Why was she (the victim) not taken to a nearby hospital but to a distant one?…”

What did the autopsy report say?

From a brain hematoma and multiple bruises on her arms and legs to a ruptured spleen, the autopsy showed severe trauma along with multiple serious external and internal injuries throughout her body. Details from the autopsy report mentioned the following external injuries, as reported by CNN-News18.

• On the right side of the face, a swelling/contusion measuring approx. 12 cm x 9 cm was found

• An injury/contusion of 9 cm x 6 cm was found on the left elbow joint

• An injury measuring 8 cm x 5 cm was found on the left forearm

• A large contusion measuring approximately 38 cm x 14 cm was found on the right thigh

• A bone-deep wound measuring about 4 cm x 1.5 cm was found on the left knee joint

• A wound measuring about 1.5 cm x 1 cm was found in the lower waist/abdomen

• A circular contusion measuring about 25 cm x 22 cm was found above the crest of the right iliac bone

• Circular injury marks were found around the right arm

• Bleeding from the left ear was observed

• Deep bruises/abrasions were found on the left side of the chest and abdomen

The results of the internal investigation are shown below:

• A hematoma (blood clot) was found in the middle and left part of the brain

• The spleen was found to be ruptured

• The left kidney was pale

• Heart chambers were found to be empty

• Internal bleeding was observed in various parts of the body
