They are just behind table-toppers and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who also have 18 points, but boast excellent clean pace and play in the game.However, for CSK, the defeat officially ended their play-off hopes and ended a disappointing campaign with their heaviest loss in IPL history.

The pair added 125 runs for the opening wicket and raced to 100 in 10 overs.After Gill’s dismissal, Jos Buttler took complete control of the innings with an unbeaten 57 off just 27 balls.
