
German Vincent Kemer continued his flawless start at Chennai Grand Masters on Saturday and winged the third direct victory to maintain a single lead in the Masters section. Nineteen -year -old defeated the Indian Karthikeyan Murali with clinical accuracy in the classic chess round Robin and his score got to the perfect 3/3.
Indian Arjun Erigaisi also had a productive day and surpassed the American GM Ray Robson to move to second place after three rounds. Twenty -year -old now sits only half a point behind Keymer at 2.5 points and keeps the title race open with six wheels.
Elsewhere in the Masters category, Gujrathi saw yourself strongly bounced off the slow start and defeated the countryman Nihal Sarin in a decisive all-Indian clash. Nihal, still looking for his first victory, remains only half a point. The American GM Awonder Liang recorded its first tournament victory, the stunning Dutch GM Jorden van Forest, while the 17 -year -old in Pranav impressed by holding the highest seed of Anish Giri for a well -fighting draw.

In the Challengers section Abhimanyu Puranik and M pranesh continued their strong beginnings, both secured victory to share the lead at 2.5 points. Abhimanyu defeated Harshavardhan GB while Pranesh overwhelmed P. Iniyana in a tense battle. Leon Luke Mendonca also impressed, defeated by R. Vaisali and Adhiban Baskaran divided the point with D. Harika. Aryan Chopra and Diptayan Ghosh also played a draw.
