Work is currently underway under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, including a drone survey, to prepare geographic information system (GIS)-based master plans for 49 cities in the state. The Government has reconstituted the Consultancy Evaluation and Evaluation Committee (CERC) chaired by the Director of Mission, AMRUT.
CERC is tasked with monitoring and reviewing the work of consultants who are hired to prepare master plans. The work under the AMRUT 1.0 scheme was carried out internally and was monitored by the Monitoring and Review Committee. However, as the work under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme is proposed to be outsourced to consultants, CERC has been set up. CERC is under the State Level Technical Committee (SLTC) chaired by the Principal Secretary, Local Government Department.
Work on the master plan, including drone surveying and tendering, continues. Requests for proposals will be invited to engage consultants to prepare GIS-based master plans after the Survey of India provides the drone data.
The reconstituted CERC will also consist of a Chief City Planner; Director, LSGD Urban; representatives of the Office for Disaster Management and the Director of Geodetic and Land Records; Executive Director, Kerala Information Mission; and other officials.
