The parents of a doctor who was raped and killed when he was on duty in RG Kar Medical College and RG Kar in August last year, expressed dissatisfaction with the way in which the CTI) Central Office (CBI) dealt with the probing.

The agency appointed only one individual – former civic volunteer Sanjay Roy – in the indictment submitted on October 7, 2024. Mr. Roy was convicted of rape and murder in Kolkata in January 2025 and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The victim’s father also allegedly retreated during the investigation. Another hearing of the case awaiting the High Court in Calcutta is scheduled for 30 June.
“Until now, the news that CBI has given us have many evidence, but they do not lead the public,” his father added.
