Prakasam District Superintendent of Police (SP) V. Harshavardhan Raju commended the two autorickshaw drivers who returned the found bags of cash and other valuables to the police. He commended them for their honesty in handing over bags that contained cash and gold ornaments left behind by passengers traveling in their vehicles.
Gadde Nageswara Rao, an auto driver from Balaji Nagar, identified a bag forgotten by a passenger while getting in and out of his car at Court Center in Ongole on Tuesday. He immediately handed her over to the Ongole One Town Police Station. The bag contained gold and cash worth nearly ₹30 crore.
Similarly, another auto driver, Sheikh Khalil of Bilal Nagar, picked up passengers from Venkateswara Colony and dropped them at Ongole RIMS Hospital. After the passengers got out, they forgot the bag in the back seat of the car. The driver found her and immediately handed the bag, which contained about six savarans of gold, silver and cash, to the officers of the City Police.
