
A 38-year-old Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus driver has been suspended in Tirupattur for talking on a mobile phone while driving the vehicle.
TNSTC officials said the driver was identified as K. Shanmugam, a native of Krishnagiri. Initial investigation revealed that the government bus was heading towards Tirupattur town from Ettipatti village in Krishnagiri district when commuters found the bus driver talking on the phone.
Several commuters shot a video of the incident and shared it on social media, sparking public outrage. Based on the enquiry, the TNSTC issued a suspension order to the driver. A stern warning was also issued to the bus crew against such practices. A probe is underway.
