Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA T. Harish Rao demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy clarify whether he had misled the assembly on ADB loan for Musi Riverfront Development project and if not, the opposition party would file a privilege notice against the CM.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said the Chief Minister had told the Assembly during a session in January that the Asian Development Bank had sanctioned ₹4,100 crore for the MRD project.
However, ADB said on December 15, 2025 that the state government is yet to submit a detailed report on the project and reiterated the same on January 23 this year. In his March 11 letter, he clarified that he did not approve the loan, he explained.
How could the chief minister mislead the assembly, he sought to know and wanted clarity from the government whether it would be Musi’s purge or beautification. The limit of the buffer zone has been unclear, with conflicting claims like 9 meters, 30 meters and now the CM claims 100 meters.
Mr. Harish Rao pointed out that the Chief Minister had himself told the Assembly in January that the DPR would take about 18 months to prepare. He sought to know how eviction notices were issued without DPR and how a notice would be issued with a notice of 10,017 buildings/houses for demolition. The government has already demolished 300 houses in Chaderghat.
He demanded that at least 100 years of data should be taken to start any project and whether the government should get a hydrological or water study done and if done, keep it in the public domain. He said that there are 46 colonies along the Musi and whether the residents there will get the same extent of land elsewhere as promised to Madhu Ridge Park Apartments.
