The Telangana BJP organized a women’s protest march on Thursday evening in what it described as a “hypocritical and anti-women attitude” on women’s reservation in legislatures. Party workers, including women, carried saffron flags and banners over the water criticizing the Congress party’s record on women empowerment and raised slogans in favor of “a reservation bill for women passed by the BJP-led NDA government”.
The march, which started in Domalguda and culminated in a public meeting at Indira Park, witnessed the participation of thousands of party workers and supporters. Several BJP leaders participated in the march, including State President N. Ramchander Rao, Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman, MPs DK Arun and Eatala Rajender, BJP Legislature Party Leader Yeleti Maheswar Reddy and MLC Malka Komuraiah.
