BJP asks cadres to reach out to rain-hit people in Andhra Pradesh

BJP state president PVN Madhav asked party leaders and workers to remain alert and extend relief to people in rain-hit areas of North Andhra, Coastal Andhra and Godavari districts.

Addressing them through a teleconference on Thursday, Mr. Madhav reviewed the situation arising from heavy rains caused by a deep depression in the Gulf. He said the people were welcoming the rains as the state had experienced a lack of rainfall. However, heavy rains could lead to flooding and cause hardship to people in some areas, which he said would require party workers to take precautionary measures.

Mr. Madhav asked the party workers to visit the affected areas and identify the problems faced by the people and take steps for immediate relief. According to him, they should report the details of flooding and damage to the district administration.

Party officials should also keep the state leadership informed about the situation in their respective mandals and villages, he said. BJP cadres should coordinate with the government machinery whenever necessary to provide relief to the people, Mr. Madhav said.

He urged party workers to prioritize people’s safety and remain alert and participate in rescue and service activities until the rains stop.
