BJP Andhra Pradesh state president PVN Madhav on Tuesday inspected preparations for the installation of a bronze statue of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Amaravati. The statue will be unveiled on December 25 at Atal Ji Smruti Van in Venkata Palem as part of Atal Bihari Vajpayee centenary celebrations.
Atal Ji Smruti Van is being developed as a museum-style memorial to represent key milestones in Vajpayee’s life and career. Mr. Madhav said the Amaravati installation would be the first statue of Vajpayee in the state and would serve as a source of inspiration for future generations, highlighting his integrity, leadership and public service.
He said the ideals of Vajpayee should guide the youth of Andhra Pradesh in working towards a developed and prosperous state. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other national and state officials will attend the ceremony.
BJP AP Nagotu General Secretary Ramesh Naidu said the celebrations follow the Atal Modi Supervision Yatra which began in Dharmavaram on December 10 and received enthusiastic public response across the state.
