LoP in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram during second round of ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar
In the 31 constituencies of Bihar, where the Mahagatbandhan (Grand Alliance) led its 1,300 km voter Adhikar Yatra in over 20 districts, the Congress led in one seat, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Left parties failed to lead in any. These results are based on the trends observed on Friday at 19:30.
In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won all the 18 seats it contested in the 31 constituencies along the yatra route in the 2025 assembly elections. Meanwhile, the Janata Dal (United) is trailing by just one of the eight seats contested on the route.
In 31 seats, RJD fielded 14 candidates, Congress fielded 16 candidates and Left parties together fielded one candidate for the 2025 Bihar elections.
The table shows the party’s number of contested seats and strike rate in the 2025 and 2020 Bihar Assembly elections.
In contrast, during the 2020 Assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 40% of the 15 seats it contested, while the Congress secured victory in 33% of the 15 seats it contested on the Voter Adhikar Yatra route. As a result, the strike rates of BJP and JD(U) in 2020 were significantly lower compared to their performance in 2025.
The table shows the seats on the assembly route and the parties leading or winning them in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections on Friday from 7.30 pm.
Araria is the only seat from which the congress runs.
The voter Adhikar Yatra, which lasted for 16 days, was promoted by the Congress as an effort to highlight alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The party argued that widespread voter suppression risks excluding eligible people from welfare systems and undermines the integrity of the electoral process.
