On Monday (July 7, 2025), the High Court in Calcuta ordered the government of the West Bengal to exclude the candidates “tight” from the fresh recruitment process of the West Bengal School in 2025.
The justice of Saugata Bhattachary has stated that if a candidate for a “stained or identified unable” is already applied, the application form should be rejected.
The High Court listened to several petitions questioning the recruitment of 2025 issued by WBSSC after the Supreme Court’s order 3. April selected the entire recruitment panel in 2016 and canceled 25,753 appointments for IX-XII and Group C and Group employees.
On Monday (July 7, 2025), the High Court said WBSSC would have to complete a new selection process according to the Timetry set by the Supreme Court.
Senior advocate Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, referring to the Supreme Court’s judgment 3. April, said he was completely excluded from the recruitment process by a court order. Mr. Bhattacharya said that the Supreme Court did not regulate its order 3 April, with the exception of permission to “unsuccessful” candidates to continue until the end of this year. He added that the Supreme Court allowed candidates with disabilities and “candidates who are not specifically stunned” to participate in a new selection process. Fresh hiring for more than 44,000 jobs began in the state 30 May. The Supreme Court ordered the fresh recruitment process to be completed by December 31, 2025.
Stained with corruption
The “spoiled” concerns candidates who have used corruption and fraudulent resources to get a job, while “UNTAINTED” concerns teachers against which such accusations do not even exist WBSSC or CBI. Given that the government of West Bengal and WBSSC did not clearly mean the distinction of the number of stained and tireless candidates, first Calcutta High Court in 2024 and then the Supreme Court canceled the entire panel in April 2025.
However, advisors appearing for the government of West Bengal and WBSSC, however, claimed that the Supreme Court had terminated the jobs of the tough candidates, but did not prevent them from appearing during the test.
Chinmoy Mondal, the leader of the teachers who lost his job, said that even after so many development the state government wants to appoint “tainted” candidates. Mr. Mondal and other candidates turned to court and were looking for a stay in the whole recruitment process that the court did not enjoy. “It is clear that both the government and the SSC are still hellishly focused on standing with stained teachers who secured appointment by unfair means. However, the court refused their argument,” said Firdaus Shamim
