A truck carrying 40,000 pounds or 17,964 liters of beer has gone missing in California. No suspect, two more cases of cargo theft
The Montclair Police Department is reportedly investigating two thefts of cargo reported Aug. 17 at the Anheuser-Busch distribution center that they believe may be related. In the first reported incident, a shipment valued at approximately $45,000 bound for Tucson, Arizona was picked up for delivery at approximately 10 a.m. (local time). However, the shipment never reached its destination, police said.
About an hour later, police said the alleged subcontractor used false paperwork to arrange for approximately $25,000 worth of Anheuser-Busch and Pabst Blue Ribbon products to be picked up. Investigators found discrepancies including details about the trucking company, driver and vehicles associated with the pickups.
Fox News reported that police said the incidents may be part of the same fraudulent cargo theft operation. No suspects have been publicly identified.
