
NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday revised the IPL 2026 schedule and changed the dates and venues of the matches between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings due to the upcoming Gujarat municipal elections on April 26.Elections are to be held not only in Ahmedabad but also in several cities including Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Karamsad-Anand, Gandhidham, Nadiad, Navsari, Porbandar, Mehsana, Morbi, Vapi and Surendranagar. The counting of votes is scheduled for April 28.

The match will resume at 15:30 IST.As a result, the return match – originally scheduled for May 21 in Chennai – will now be held in Ahmedabad, keeping its 7:30 PM IST start.The rest of the IPL 2026 schedule remains unchanged as the tournament moves into its crucial off-season phase.“The change was necessitated in view of the municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat scheduled for April 26, 2026,” the BCCI said in a release.IPL 2026: Points Table ScenarioFive-time champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders, who opened their account with a 23-run win over Delhi Capitals, in Chennai on Tuesday.Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have collected four points from four matches and are fifth in the table.
