BCCI calls for a joint meeting of stakeholders ahead of the 20th season of IPL
The Indian Cricket Board has convened a joint meeting of stakeholders here on October 15 as the Indian Premier League heads into its 20th season next year.
The BCCI has invited all the key stakeholders of the IPL, which include the franchise owners and their CEOs, the state associations that organized IPL matches and the broadcasters, for a meeting ahead of the 2027 season.
According to a BCCI source, the board intends to review issues and learnings from previous IPL seasons while also addressing any concerns during the meeting in Mumbai.
Planning and discussions with key stakeholders on the organization of IPL 2027 is also on the agenda of the BCCI meeting.
The Cricket Board of India believes that state associations play a key role in the running of the IPL and their views on match-day coordination and ground operations are crucial to the issues they are trying to address.
At the conclusion of its annual general meeting here last month, the BCCI announced that its general body had taken a unanimous call to celebrate the completion of two decades of the IPL “in a big way”.
