Andhra Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission member Ravada Seetharam on Sunday said former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram’s simple life and his sacrifices for the welfare of downtrodden sections would continue to inspire all future generations of the society.
He attended as the chief guest the 119th birth anniversary of Jagjivan Ram held at Etcherla Women’s Hostel in Srikakulam district.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Jagjivan Ram played a vital role in the Indian independence movement and as a member of the Constituent Assembly. He said the former deputy prime minister inspired many youths with his role as defense minister during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and inspired many youths to join the armed forces.
Mr. Sitaram urged the students to read the biography of Jagjivan Ram and adopt his ideals to serve the society in a better way in future.
