
A consortium of private autonomous engineering colleges in the Andhra University region and JNTU Anantapur region have merged to form the Andhra Pradesh Autonomous Engineering Colleges Management Association.
The new executive committee of the newly formed association was unanimously elected at a meeting in Vijayawada on Friday.
The chairman of Bapatla Engineering College in Bapatla district M. Srinivasa Rao was elected as the president. The chairman of Chaitanya Bharathi College of Engineering and Technology at Proddatur in Kadapa district V. Jaya Chandra Reddy was elected as the general secretary. Director of Aditya Institute of Technology and Management at Tekkali in Srikakulam district VV Nageswara Rao will serve as treasurer.
Chairman of MVR Engineering College in Vijayawada of Krishna district MV Srinivasa Babu and Chairman of Pullaiah College of Engineering and Technology in Kurnool district GV Mohan Kumar were elected vice presidents. Vice-Chairman of Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology at Narsapuram in West Godavari district S. Kirti Kumar and Chairman of Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College at Odalarevu in East Godavari district B. Kanaka Durga will serve as joint secretaries.
