Andhra University (AU) is all set to organize a two-day National Symposium on Advances in Scientific Research on February 27 and 28. The event is a double celebration, commemorating the prestigious Centenary Year and National Science Day.
AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Addressing the Academic Senate Hall on Thursday, GP Rajasekhar announced that nine world-class experts, including four winners of the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award, would participate in the symposium.
The symposium will begin at 10 am at the AU Convention Center on Beach Road in Visakhapatnam.
Keynote addresses will be given by experts from IIT Madras, IISc Bangalore and IIT Guwahati on the first day. Topics will range from advanced physics to biotechnology. The evening will end with short films and skits with scientific themes performed by students.
On the next day, a massive Science Rally with 3000 students marches from the Administration Building to the Physics Department to garland the statue of Sir CV Raman. Expert lectures with professors from IIT Kanpur and IISER Tirupati will continue.
The Vice-Chancellor also shared the upcoming events and major updates regarding the growth of the University at the press conference.
He said that the ₹10 crore Aurobindo Skill Development Center will be officially inaugurated on March 5.
A special program called ‘Anveshan’ is being launched in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of India.
For the first time, AU will open its world-class laboratories to students from affiliated universities for summer internships.
The All India Bodybuilding Championship will also be held soon, he added.
