The Atal Bridge over the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad has attracted more than 77.71 million visitors since its opening and according to data released by the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd. (SRFDCL) has generated revenue of ₹ 27.70 crore to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in three years.
Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2022, the ₹74 crore Atal Foot Over Bridge has become one of the city’s most visited attractions. The bridge continues to attract visitors from all over India and abroad, especially during festivals and holidays.
Between April and October 2025, the bridge received 8.51 lakh visitors and earned ₹4.82 crore in revenue. From August 2022 to October 2025, the total reached 77,71,269, reflecting its growing popularity among tourists and residents, officials.
AMC has already recovered nearly 37% of the project cost through tourism revenue as SRFDCL continues to manage the operation and maintenance of the bridge, they said.
From August 31, 2022 to March 2023, the bridge recorded 21.62 million visitors and ₹6.44 crore in revenue, officials said. “Between April 2023 and March 2024, 26.89 million people visited, contributing ₹8.24 million. The following year, April 2024 to March 2025, saw 20.67 million visitors and ₹8.19 million, revenue. ₹4.82 million,” they said.
“Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has strengthened the focus on urban tourism while preserving monuments. Tourist spots like Gandhi Ashram, Sabarmati Riverfront, Kankaria Lake, Narendra Modi Stadium, Heritage Walk and traditional Pols continue to strengthen Ahmedabad’s identity as a blend of heritage and modernity,” officials said.
