The Assam government has decided to ban the organizer of the events associated with the death of the singer Zateen Garg in Singapore 19 September.
Chief Minister of Histant Bisw Sarma said on Wednesday (September 24, 2025) that the state government decided to prohibit Shyamkan Mahant and any organization that was associated with it to hold any office or festivals in Assam.

The main minister also stated that the state government would not provide any financial grant, advertising or sponsorship for any event with which Mr. Mahanta is directly or indirectly, and asks the center to take a similar step.
Mr. Mahanta and the late Garga, Siddharth Sharma, were appointed in the first information reports (companies) for the alleged negligence leading to the death of the singer-composer. The dissecting report of the Singapore’s authorities said he died due to drowning after he went to the yacht.

The Chief Minister ordered the Chief of the State Police to club all FIRS and have the crime investigation department to explore the circumstances leading to the death of SuperStar, which fought bad health and recommended to avoid water and fire.
Garg was scheduled to participate in northeast India, which Mr. Mahanta has been organizing since 2013. The event was canceled after 52 -year -old Garg’s death.
The Hindus previously reported that Garg was allegedly blackmailly blackmailing at the Singapore event. In a statement on social media platforms, Mr. Mahanta claimed that Garg did not go to Singapore only at the event and the organizers of the event were not informed of his yacht.
Mr. Mahanta also said that the composer of the singers planned the Assam Association in Singapore to relax.
Meanwhile, the Assam unit of Congress and Akhil Gogo-cuddly Raijor demanded the probe of the Central Office for the investigation of Garg’s death “in mysterious circumstances”. The Assam forum also demanded an impartial investigation into his death through a panel including a former police officer, crimes experts, judges and lawyers.
The mortal remains of Garga, who sang more than 38,000 songs in 40 languages, especially Assamese, Bengal and Hindi, were sent to flames in Sonapore near Guwahati on Tuesday. His body was held in the sports complex in Guwahati for more than 48 hours to pay hundreds of thousands of fans the last respect.
