The unemployment rate (OR) for those aged 15 and over was 5.1% in March, up 0.2 percentage points from February, mainly due to urban unemployment, according to the regular labor force survey prepared by the Office for National Statistics on Wednesday (April 15, 2026).
The report said unemployment in rural areas was 4.3%, while it was 6.8% in urban areas. Among women aged 15 and over, unemployment was 4.1% in rural areas and 9% in urban areas.
