Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is expected to visit Delhi this month, although controversial cooked that Russia is repeating the claims of US President Donald Trump that India denied that Washington mediated India-Pakistan last month.
This is the first visit to India by the Foreign Minister from one of the permanent members of the UN Security from Sindoor Operation. Diplomatic sources suggested that Mr. Lavrov be able to travel in the next week to discuss strategic and economic ties with the Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar.
It is important that Mr. Lavrov will arrive in India after meeting with Pakistani special advisor to Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi in Moscow on Tuesday and at a possible meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin in July in July.

India denies the claim to mediation
On Thursday, however, Mr. Putin’s assisted commentary Yuri Ushakov raised his eyebrows. While he spoke of Mr. Trump’s interview with Mr. Putin in Ukraine, he mentioned that he also discussed other questions, including the Middle East, “as well as the armed conflict between India and Pakistan, which was stopped by President Trump’s personal involvement.” ”
Upon request, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that “India) and Square” clarified (India) of the Fair and Square “of a four -day conflict after India began strikes on Pakistani terrorist infrastructure of Sindoor,” ending hostility (May 10) was bilaterally and two DGMOS. “
Despite the consistent denial of US government officials, Trump and the US have said that more than a dozen times, even in a sworn submissions in the US court, that the US “mediated” between the two parties and used trade as a “leverage” to ensure the end of hostility. It is not clear whether Mr. Ushakov simply repeated Mr. Trump’s claims during an interview with Mr. Putin Ad Verbatim, or whether Russia had some other source of information about this topic, but the officials will be again explained by Mr. Lavrov.

“Games in economic ties”
In addition to discussing the details of the Sindoor operation, where the success of the Indian military hardware-including those supplied by Russia, such as S-400- air defense systems, were expected to require Mr. Lavrov to accelerate free trade interviews (FTA) between India and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
EAEU, which includes Russia and the former Soviet states of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, is a common market and a customs association that has been talking with India since 2015. The interviews were strengthened by a seven-fold increase in bilateral trade in India-Russia from 2021 to nearly $ 70 billion in 2024, mainly because of Indian Russian oil purchases, despite Western sanctions.
The Russian deputy mission Roman Babushkin told reporters that EAEU-India FTA is “need for hours”, “image” and “game converter” in economic ties.
“The acceleration of FTA interviews was one of the most important topics on the agenda when Prime Minister Modi and President Putin met in Moscow in 2024,” said Babushkin, adding that India and Russia have achieved problems such as payment mechanisms, insurance and bank facilities since then.
