In his message, Afridi said that the government’s support is most important at this time to avoid any obstacle in the country’s progress.
“Assalamualaikum friends, I am Shahid Afridi. Due to the war, the global energy crisis that the world is facing right now – Pakistan, Alhamdulillah, is still in a much better position than many countries. The government’s support and support is the most important thing. As Pakistanis, we should try to follow the steps taken by the government so that the country is not a hindrance in the country’s progress.”
Last month alone, Pakistan raised petrol and diesel prices by nearly 20%, which it attributed to rising global oil prices linked to the US-Israeli conflict involving Iran.
The fresh hike is likely to further fuel inflation and increase the financial burden on the country’s already struggling population. Pakistan remains heavily dependent on imported oil, with most supplies coming from Saudi Arabia and the UAE via the Strait of Hormuz.
