AP government has taken note of media commission proposal: Minister Kondapalli Srinivas

MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas said on Friday that the government has always tried to get media support to highlight social and development activities so that people benefit from such publicity. He said that the media commission proposal is good to supervise the press, electronic media and social media platforms.

Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists Association State Deputy General Secretary PSSV Prasad, APUWJ-Vizianagaram District President Aripaka Ramu and Secretary NM Sanyasi Rao and other members submitted a memorandum to the Minister expressing concern over the spread of false information through uncontrolled social media platforms.

Mr. Siva said the appointment of a media commission can monitor the content of media platforms and issue guidelines periodically. Responding to the petition, Mr. Srinivas said that misuse of social media platforms has caused trouble for the government as well. Earlier, the APUWJ delegation submitted a memorandum to Nellimarla MLA Lokam Naga Madhavi, Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and other officials regarding the affairs of journalists.
