Ukraine suggested that the United States of the United States be able to help Washington replace Russia to sell oil to Europe because President Donald Trump is pushing the EU to retreat from investing in Moscow energy to end her war in Ukraine, according to New York Post.
Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlan Grynchuk told the newspaper that the pipeline located under the Ukrainian surface can be used to supply fuel either drilled in a country with the US mineral agreement or transported from America.
“The Ukrainian gas and oil infrastructure has always been a key part of European energy security, because the Ukrainian territory was like transit from Russia to Europe – and we have a very, very good gas and oil infrastructure,” the minister said.
The proposal, if adopted, could mean that US oil can soon replace Russia in the energy sector of European countries.
“American and other international partners could use this infrastructure to ensure European energy security by adding it and storage potential of gas and oil in Ukraine,” Grynchuk said.
Ukraine suggests an idea for Unga
Andriy Yermak, the highest advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlensky, said New York Post that this idea suggested to US ambassador Mike Waltz last week at the next meeting.
He told the newspaper that Kyiv can help the US replacement of Russia to crush oil to European countries.
According to him, we could see how his economy rises sharply and helped Kievs stop the war against Moscow if Donald Trump joined the offer.
“I asked him to introduce me to your secretary of energy,” Yermak said about his conversation with Waltz.
Ukraine has the highest amount of liquid gas storage throughout Europe.
“I asked him that as soon as possible, arrange meetings (between US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Grynchuk) and we can come,” Yermak said.
Are we on board?
However, the proposal submitted by Ukraine is still in the early stages and the US reaction to it is unclear.
“We have to work together because Ukraine is a responsible partner (over Russia),” Yermak said. “We are open. We’ll see things together and let’s work together.”
Oil acted as the main source of Russia’s income in propagating the war with Ukraine. It would mean that Moscow is likely to be pushed to sign a peace agreement, as Trump wants.
The US President is chasing European nations that buy Russian oil and ask them to stop shopping if they wanted to end the war in Ukraine.
