On Wednesday (September 24, 2025), the Jammu and Kashmir High Court issued an announcement to police officials and civil administration on a petition filed by the imprisoned legislator AAM AADMI (AAP) Mehraj Malik from the Doda district.
After hearing the reason for Mr. Malik, who challenged his arrest under the Public Security Act (PSA), the judiciary of the Vinod Chatteri published a ball to the main secretary of the government, the domestic department; District judge, Doda; Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda; and superintendent, district prison, kathhua.
The court ordered the officials to give their response until October 14, another date of hearing.
Mr. Malik was arrested on 8 September after the online video became a viral, where the MLA allegedly used a non -parliamentic language against the representatives of the Doda Commissioner, Hardinder Singh, through the waiting fees.
Battery of lawyers, including the higher defense counsel of Rahula Pant, Appu Singh Salathia, M. Zulcarnaain Chowdhary and Joginder Singh Thakur, asks Mr. Malik, whose arrest caused violent protests in Doda.
The lawyers said the court that the matter should be considered “urgent because Detene is a elected representative. Doda Mla is required by the public to fulfill the duties of their office. This matter deserves a quick hearing.”
Mr. Malik also demanded a replacement of 5 ₹ Crore for “violations of his fundamental rights and restrictions on his personal freedom” from respondents.
