The Annamayya district police on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) arrested a five-member gang, including two women, for their alleged involvement in a series of chain snatchings and seized gold jewelery worth ₹11.62 lakh, four mobile phones and two motorcycles.
The Madanapalle sub-divisional police said the accused were nabbed near the Yetigadda Shiva temple along the Madanapalle-Tirupati highway following public complaints of a series of thefts targeting women. The arrests were related to six different cases reported in the district.
