Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Friday (Nov 07, 2025) that his son Parth and his business partner were not aware that the Pune land their company bought belonged to the government and the controversial transaction has now been cancelled.
A committee appointed by the government to probe the ₹300 crore deal will submit its report within a month, he told reporters here shortly after meeting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis amid raging controversies.
The registration of documents related to the deal has been canceled and an affidavit has been submitted to the authorities, the NCP chief said, adding that not even a rupee has changed hands in the deal.
On Thursday, a deal to sell 40 acres of government land in the posh Mundhwa area to Amadea Enterprises LLP worth ₹300 crore came under the scanner as it was alleged that the land could not be sold without government permission and the required stamp duty was not paid. Opposition leaders also claimed that the market value of the land was ₹1,800 crore.
The Pimpri Chinchwad police registered an FIR – based on a complaint filed by the Inspector General of the Registration Office – against Digvijay Patil, Shital Tejwani (who represented the 272 “owners” of the land through power of attorney) and sub-registrar RB Tara for alleged embezzlement and cheating
“The land in question is a government land which cannot be sold. Parth and his partner Digvijay Patil were not aware of this fact. How the registration (of his sale) was done and who is responsible for it, we will know in the probe led by ACS (Additional Chief Secretary) Vikas Kharge and he will submit his report within a month,” Mr Pawar said.
According to his information, there was no pressure on the authorities to transfer the land to Parth Pawar (Amadea Enterprises LLP), the deputy CM said.
The FIR named three persons (including Digvijay Patil) but not his son as these three persons visited the registrar’s office to sign the documents, Ajit Pawar further said.
He told the officials that if they find any irregularity in any other land deals involving his relatives, they should cancel the deal and take action, he said.
He spoke to Mr. Fadnavis, who was in Nagpur on Thursday when the media started reporting on the controversy, and told the chief minister that he could take appropriate action, Mr. Pawar said.
Parth Pawar is a director of a firm involved in the transaction, Ajit said, adding that he had spoken to the officials concerned and his son to “understand the facts completely”.
“I want to make it clear that neither I nor my office made any phone calls, assisted or had any role or knowledge of this transaction at any stage,” the Deputy CM said.
“From the information now available, it was clear that it was only an agreement to buy the land and no payment was made by Partha, his company Amadeo or any member of my family to the seller and ownership of the land was not taken over. So the transaction was not completed,” he said.
“My son Parth says that the proposed deal was within the bounds of the law and completely beyond the scope of the law. But we must not allow even a suspicion of wrongdoing to arise in public life. As allegations of wrongdoing have been leveled, he has agreed to cancel the deal. The required document to cancel the sale agreement has already been submitted to the registering authority,” Pawar said.
