
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana which is commonly known as PM Kisan Yojana is in limelight as the time of twenty first installment is approaching. Under this scheme total ₹2,000 is regularly credited to the accounts of the beneficiaries. Launched by the Union Government in 2019, the scheme benefited more than 9.7 million farmers across the country in the previous cycle, the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme was released on August 2. Is farmer e-KYC important for availing benefits?
It is important to note that the eligible farmers who have completed their e-KYC and registration process on the official portal for the 21st installment will receive funds from the central government welfare scheme.
The official website states, “eKYC is MANDATORY for PMKISAN registered farmers. OTP based eKYC is available on PMKISAN portal or one can contact nearest CSC centers for biometric based eKYC.” Aadhaar number will be required for the eKYC process.
Although no official date for the release of the funds has been announced yet, according to media reports, timely disbursement of funds has been made to provide financial assistance to farmers affected by the devastating floods and landslides in September.
In particular, eligible farmers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand have reportedly received these funds from the Center directly under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme for the 21st installment. On 7 October, a periodic installment was issued for Jammu and Kashmir. Under this scheme, farmers receive ₹6,000 every year in three equal installments.

The website further notes, “Farmers are requested to check their eligibility status on Know Your Status (KYS) website/PM KISAN website/mobile app or Kisan eMitra chatbot. In particular, the state government and union territory administration identify the farmer families who are eligible for support as per the scheme guidelines.”
How to Check PM Kisan Status 21st Installment 2025?
Step 1: Visit the official website of PM-Kisan at pmkisan.gov.in
Step 2: On the home page, go to Farmer’s Corner.
Step 3: Select the “Know Your Status” tab.
Step 4: Enter the registration number and security code to check the status.
Step 5: OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.
Step 6: Enter the OTP on the portal and check the status of the 21st installment.
What to do in case of pending status?
Applicants need to complete pending formalities like Aadhar card linking, PAN card verification or bank account issues as pending status indicates incomplete application process.
