The General Directorate for Civil Aviation will review the helicopter operation to determine whether to shorten the services for “Char Dham” Yatra in Uttarakhand after up to four accidents in the last month, DGCA said on Monday (June 9, 2025).
The Aviation Safety Regulator was banned by Kestrel Aviation Private Limited in providing helicopters and waiting for an investigation of the accident on June 7 in the RudraPrayag district, when the helicopter Agusta Westland 119 carried out a preventive landing to stretch the road soon five passengers.
DGCA also ordered “improved supervision” for helicopter operators involved in shuttle services and charter operations in Uttarakhand, she said. Saturday’s incident was the fourth incident in a month and DGCA introduced an investigation into all incidents.
