Action to revise school timetable in Bengaluru city: Madhu Bangarappa
“The appropriate decision regarding revision of school timings in Bengaluru city in view of traffic congestion will be taken after consultation with various ministries,” said School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa.
“The private schools association has requested to change the school timings due to traffic congestion in Bengaluru. A decision on the matter will be taken soon,” he said.
On Saturday, he spoke at an event at the St. Philomena in Attibele.
He noted that there is a requirement to consider teachers working in private schools for the State Teaching Award, a matter currently being considered by the government. A decision on this will be taken after consultations, he said.
A Cabinet sub-committee, headed by Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Puttanna, has made recommendations regarding restoration of recognition (RR) for private schools and extension of House Rent Allowance (HRA) currently provided to government employees in Bengaluru city to teachers in government and aided schools in Bengaluru rural district.
He said a decision would be taken after the meeting.
