Accused in juvenile kidnapping case

The Ernakulam Central police team, which is investigating the alleged kidnapping and assault of a youth employed in Bengaluru, arrested Anish Nasar alias ‘Attani Anish’, a native of Mattancherry. According to the police, the 43-year-old man is accused in several criminal cases and is on the police register.

He was arrested from his home on Saturday (June 6, 2026). The police have registered a suo motu case in connection with the alleged offense for which Anish is accused on bail in a previous case.

According to the police, Anish was recently involved in an assault case in which a group led by him allegedly assaulted a youth at a tea shop on MG Road in Kochi. After the incident, the police traced him to a hideout in Thrissur. He was subsequently taken into judicial custody.

However, after being released on bail, he allegedly kidnapped the youth in a vehicle, assaulted him and later posted a video of the incident on social media. The police launched a search after the accused went into hiding.
