Access to generic Risdiplam is required under the rare disease policy for people with spinal muscular atrophy

Persons living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and parents of minors living with the condition have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his urgent intervention to ensure nationwide access to generic Risdiplam under National Policy on Rare Diseases (NPRD).

SMA is a genetic, progressive and life-limiting neuromuscular condition and access to treatment is time-sensitive, with delays potentially causing irreversible deterioration.
