A zipline operator died in an accident at the tourist spot of Ranipuram in Kerala’s Kasaragod district

A 24-year-old zipline operator died after an accident occurred on the ride he was operating at the tourist destination Ranipuram Glass Bridge on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Sanoop Krishnan, a native of Chamundikkunnu in Panathada.

The accident happened at around 5:00 pm while the tourists were being taken on the zipline. According to preliminary information, the cable became tangled, causing the zipline to lose control and fall down.

Sanoop sustained serious injuries in the accident and was taken to a private hospital in Kasaragod where he died during treatment.

Sanoop had only started as a zipline operator in Ranipuram on Friday, so Saturday was his second day on the job.

The Rajapuram police have launched an investigation into the accident. Police are investigating whether the incident was caused by a technical fault with the zipline system and what led to the tangled cable. Authorities are also reviewing security measures at the tourist destination as part of the investigation.
