A toddler drowns in an open water tank in Ghatkesar

A 15-month-old girl died after she allegedly fell into an open water tank while playing outside her house in Ghatkesar on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Nynika, was playing outside her residence near Shivareddyguda in Ghatkesar at the time of the incident.

The Ghatkesar police have registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

According to the complaint filed by her father Sampangi Mahesh, a daily wage labourer, the family members were at home at the time of the incident. Around 2:45 p.m., the relative went to the washroom and approached the open water tank to collect water. Then he noticed a toddler swimming in the water.

The child was rushed to the Ghatkesar Government Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
