KHAMMAM
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao said that a survey is being urgently conducted to identify the eligible poor homeless families who have been evicted from Bhood land at Velugumatla in Khammam. Instructions have been issued to the district collector to prepare the 10-acre government land for construction of houses after completion of the survey, he said.
In a statement, Mr. Rao said the government had taken legal action to remove illegal shacks built on bhoodan land at the behest of an organization called “Pedala Sangham”.
“An unscrupulous organization has collected thousands of rupees from gullible poor people by issuing fake pattas to them. These vested elements are behind the construction of huts on bhoodan land. An investigation is underway into allegations of irregularities in bhoodan land based on several complaints received about the organization involved in nefarious activities in disguise,” he said of the poor.
The minister added that BRS leaders were trying to gain political distance by resorting to slinging mud against the state government.
“Congress cadres should not be provoked by politically motivated propaganda. They should exercise restraint and refrain from filing police complaints against misinformation campaigns on social media platforms,” he said.
