A man from Tamil Nadu buys a bus ticket to Hosur and gets “Dubai, United Arab Emirates” as his destination. Viral moment sparks buzz online | Today’s news

For a brief moment, P Damadorano’s journey looked much more ambitious than he had planned. The Tamil Nadu resident boarded a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus from Bhavani bypass on Monday with the intention of traveling to Hosur with his friend M Raja. Instead, the ticket he received indicated he was headed all the way to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Adding to the surprise was the fact that the ticket showed the price 10,000 per passenger.

In fact, both men were traveling on TNSTC’s Coimbatore-Bengaluru route and the actual fare to Hosur was only 150 each, according to a report by The Times of India.

Double view of the ticket

It was only after receiving the ticket that Damadoran noticed something unusual.

Where he expected “Hosur” to be printed as the destination, the ticket instead said “Dubai, UAE”. The fare was just as confusing and it showed 10,000 instead 150.

The unexpected details quickly caught the attention of those around him and turned an otherwise routine bus ride into a source of entertainment.

Social media is having a field day

Damadoran later shared a photo of the ticket online and it didn’t take long for the image to go viral on social media.

Users flooded the comments section with jokes, memes and playful questions. Some wondered if TNSTC had quietly launched an international route connecting Tamil Nadu and Dubai, while others joked that it could be the cheapest overseas route available.

The bizarre ticket struck a chord online, with many enjoying the mix-up and sharing the image widely.

What TNSTC said

As the post gained traction, officials from TNSTC Salem Division stepped in to explain the situation.

According to the transport corporation, the ticket was the result of a software glitch in the electronic ticket machine used by the conductor.

Officials clarified that Damadoran was only charged the correct fare for his trip. The wrong destination and fare appeared on the ticket due to a technical error in the system.

They also stressed that the glitch affected only the printed information and did not affect the actual amount collected from passengers.

When a small mistake becomes a big story

The “ticket to Dubai” mystery may have been solved, but not before giving social media users a lot of fun.

The journey to Hosur, which should have been uneventful, briefly looked like a journey across the border 10,000. Instead, it became another reminder that in the age of social media, even a simple software bug can turn an everyday experience into a viral sensation.
