A fire broke out in a flat in Noida’s Aranya Society, located in Sector 119, on Monday, prompting a massive fire-fighting operation, ANI reported.
At least six fire brigades were dispatched to the scene and firefighting operations are currently underway. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Sector-113 police station.
While the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, officials said no casualties have been reported yet.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the incident and directed officials to immediately reach the spot and speed up rescue operations. A statement by the CMO said, “The Chief Minister has issued instructions to the officials to reach the spot immediately. The Chief Minister has directed to speed up rescue and relief operations and directed that proper medical treatment be provided to the injured. Instructions have been issued to the administration to be vigilant at all levels.”
Adityanath also directed that rescue operations should be continuously monitored and issued instructions to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.
Citing a preliminary report, NDTV said the fire was believed to be caused by an explosion in an AC unit; however, official confirmation is awaited.
