A five-member panel to hear complaints from AMMA members

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) executive committee meeting held here on Wednesday decided to set up a five-member panel to hear the allegations and counter-allegations leveled by actors Ansiba Hassan, Neena Kurup, Lakshmipriya and Tini Tom.

Shwetha Menon, president of the association, said that the jury will include her member, general secretary Kukačka Parameswaran and three other members of the association. Ms Ansiba, who resigned as joint secretary, accused executive committee member Tini Tom of character assassination and spreading communal remarks against her. She also asked for an independent commission to hear her complaints.

Ms. Kurup, a member of the executive committee, claimed that Mr. Tom tried to verbally and physically assault her. Ms Lakshmipriya, a member of the executive committee, accused Ms Hassan of sending a WhatsApp message that could have affected her family life. Mr Tom denied the complaints against him and claimed there was a conspiracy against him.

Ms Menon said the executive committee meeting decided to send members who appeared before the media to share their “one-sided” versions. They must submit their responses within three to five days of receiving the notice.

She said Ms. Parameswaran admitted in the executive committee meeting that she had shared an audio file related to a conversation between her and the security personnel at the headquarters of the actors’ association here and to member Maala Parvathi. According to her, the alleged audio file appeared in the media section.
