Protecting the environment is everyone’s responsibility, says the Collector

District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore urged citizens to take responsibility for environmental protection, pollution control and conservation of natural resources, stressing that maintaining a clean and green environment for future generations is a collective responsibility.
Speaking at the release of an information poster on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026 at the Collectorate on Wednesday, Mr. Kishore said environmental protection should become an integral part of daily life.
The poster, prepared by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), Visakhapatnam, was jointly unveiled by Collector and Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi.
Based on this year’s World Environment Day theme, ‘Inspired by nature – for the climate, for our future’, the poster draws attention to issues such as plastic, air, water, soil and noise pollution, as well as the management of construction and demolition waste.
APPCB officials, APEPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Prudhvitej Immadi, Joint Collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, VMRDA Commissioner Tej Bharat and other senior officials were among those present.
