Cambodia human trafficking case: ED conducts searches in UP and Punjab

The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) conducted searches in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab in connection with a human trafficking syndicate operating from India and Cambodia.

“The syndicate is suspected to be involved in organized human trafficking, cyber fraud and laundering of the proceeds of crime generated by these illegal activities,” an agency source said.

The ED investigation is based on the first information report registered and the charge sheet filed by the Delhi Police.

“The search operation targets the residential premises of individuals who acted as Indian recruiters and agents; they also facilitated the trafficking of victims to Cambodia under the pretext of providing employment overseas,” the source said.
