Shots fired outside Khan Sira coaching institute in Patna, security guard injured | Today’s news
Shots were fired outside Educator Khan Sir’s coaching institute near Musallahpur Haat in Patna on Tuesday. Police said a security guard sustained injuries in the incident, after which he was taken to hospital.
Speaking to ANI, SP Kartikeya K Sharma said that the police is recording the statement of local residents.
“This is a case of physical assault. It has been reported that the guard has sustained injuries, so further proceedings are being taken to record his statement and the statements of local people. The injured individual is currently undergoing treatment.”
After the incident, Patna SSP, SP and several police teams reached the spot.
Khan Sir suspected that a rival coaching center might have been involved in the firing incident.
“… The main problem seems to be why we teach for such low fees. Why do we get such massive results? We appeal to the administration to keep safety concerns in mind and recognize that even the poor have a right to education. When results are achieved in thousands, certain anti-social elements tend to feel threatened. They think they can suppress us.”
He further claimed that the miscreants “vandalized” the office and called for “protection”
“The attackers completely vandalized the office and opened fire… CCTV footage has been handed over to the authorities. Our security has also identified the perpetrators – they are people from a nearby coaching centre. We need protection; this is a matter for the administration to handle… It is clear to all that a nearby coaching institute is behind this. They have even given a statement that they will blow up the Sira Khan coaching centre…
