Iran US War News LIVE: A day after Trump and Netanyahu had a tense phone call over Israeli strikes in 2018, the US military said Tuesday it had “successfully defeated” a series of Iranian missile and drone attacks on its regional neighbors and carried out self-defense strikes on Iran’s Qeshm island. All flights in Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates were suspended following the strikes.

The US Central Command said in a statement: “Iran fired several ballistic missiles towards its regional neighbors; however, all missed their intended targets. Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait were lost or disintegrated en route, and three missiles fired at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by US and Bahraini air defense forces.”

Explosions were heard on the Iranian island of Qeshm after the attempted attack in Kuwait, the Mehr agency reported. Bahrain’s interior ministry also sounded the alarm after the strikes in Kuwait, urging the public to head to the nearest safe place. Follow US Iran War News LIVE updates only on Mint.
