
Luxury superyacht worth € 100 million increased in flames in the picturesque port of Saint-Tropez in southern France and sent shock waves through a popular tourist destination, Independent reported.
The incident occurred on July 10, when the 41 -meter -long Sea Lady II ship aroused near the coast of the Mediterranean coast. Video shots captured by Gary Sturrock show a massive yacht absorbed by thick black smoke and roaring orange flames when stunned viewers watched from the dock.
The port, known for hosting ultra -rich and high -ranking celebrities, witnessed panic and confused as the emergency service rushed to the scene.
The yachts in the area were quickly moved to safety while the barriers were deployed against pollution to prevent environmental damage.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported yet.
Since then, dramatic visuals have gone through virals and have caused interviews around naval security and luxury vessel protocols.
In June, a cargo ship dropped that set fire to the Pacific Ocean. The morning midas, which was abandoned after the fire, carried about 3,000 vehicles, including around 800 electric vehicles.
The transport company said the cargo ship sank on June 23. In its statement, Zodiac Maritime further stated that the damage caused by the fire was enhanced by heavy weather and subsequently the water entered the ship, causing it to sink.
“Damage caused by fire, composed of heavy weather and subsequent water entrances, caused the morning midas 23rd June to immerse around 16.35 local time zone (UTC -9), in waters of approximately 5,000 meters deep and 360 naval miles from Earth,” the manager said.
