
Legendary actor Telugu Kota Srinivasa Rao died on Sunday 13th July at Hyderabad, Hyderabad after a long -term illness. He was 83.
Who was Kota Srinivasa Rao?
Rao was known for its versatility and strong presence on the screen. Rao had a Teluga cinema and a theatrical acting career lasting almost four decades.
He was born on July 10, 1942 in the village of Kankipad, the suburbs of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
According to Telangan, Rao’s early life was far from the arc lights. His father, Seetha Rama Anjaneyulu, was a respected doctor and Young Kota once dreamed of watching the same way.
But fate had other plans for him.
Kota Srinivasa Rao was attracted to the stage during his college. In the end, he discovered an unwavering passion for acting: a passion that would define his entire life. His debut film came in 1978 with Khareed’s Pranam and did not look back.
Some of his best performances remain etched in people’s minds: AA Nalguru, Siva, Aha Na Pellant, Bommarill, Attarinintiki Daredi many others.
Kota Srinivasa Rao was also a politician. In 1999 he won as MLA from the Eastern Election District of Vijayawad and gained recognition as a “good leader” through public service, said Minister Andhra Nara Loket.
Rao won a bachelor’s degree of science and even worked as an employee of a state bank.

Main Minister Andhra Pradesh Chandrababa Naida ended the demise of a renowned actor and former MLA Kot Srinivasa Rao and his walking referred to as an “irreparable loss” to the Teluga film industry.
In a post on X, cm Chandrababu Naida, he said, “The demise of the renowned actor Kot Srinivasa Rao, who has gained the affection of the audience in the cinema with his versatile roles, is deeply sad.”
“His artistic contributions to the cinema and theater areas for nearly four decades and the role he has portrayed will remain unforgettable. Numerous unforgettable roles that played as a villain and artist will remain elaborate in the hearts of Telugo viewers,” Chandrababu Naida said.
“His passage is an irreparable loss of the Teluga film industry. In 1999 he won as a MLA of Vijayawady and served the public. I express my deep condolences to my family members,” Chandrababu Naida said.
Meanwhile, Minister Andr Nara Loket published on X: “Kota Srinivasa Rao Garu portrayed a number of distinctive roles Kota Srinivasa Rao Garu and gained a special place in the hearts of the Telugu audience.”
“Thanks to his unique acting he exhaled his life into countless characters. He also gained recognition for playing in other languages,” he added.
