Congratulating RCB on IPL glory, PV Sindhu adds a sassy note for good luck

Congratulating Royal Challengers Bengaluru for IPL 2026 glory, PV Sindhu celebrated the franchise that changed its story in recent seasons. On Sunday 31 May RCB successfully defended their IPL crown with a five-wicket win over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, cementing their reputation as a champion side rather than one long associated with being perpetual underdogs.

Sindhu also added a sassy remark about “tala for luck” and joked about her move to Bangalore coinciding with the rise of RCB. The two-time Olympic medalist went on to acknowledge the emotion and loyalty of the franchise’s fan base, which has stood firm through years of heartbreak, near misses and unwavering belief before the recent title turnaround.

“RCB fans, I’m not saying I’m a lucky charm. But I moved to Bangalore and suddenly you’ve won the trophy every year since then. Do the math,” Sindhu wrote in an Instagram post.

“Huge congratulations to the incredible RCB team, players, staff, owners and fans. This series has brought so much emotion, madness, heartbreak, faith and love over the years and to see them become back-to-back champions is truly special,” Sindhu said.

Sindhu further said that she would like to see the high-voltage IPL final between RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad, which she said would bring huge emotions and drama for the fans.

“Obviously Hyderabad vs RCB final would be a dream. SRH vs RCB would emotionally destroy us all in the best way. But Bangalore, you deserved it. After years of heartbreak. Back to back champions,” added Sindhu.

Meanwhile, Patidar became only the third skipper after MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma to successfully defend the IPL title. Not only did he impress with his leadership, but he also contributed significantly with the bat. In 15 matches, he scored 501 runs at an average of 41.75 and a strike rate of 192.69, including an incredible 93 off just 33 balls against the Titans in Qualifier 1.
