Bengaluru traffic constable’s act of kindness in middle of flooded road wins hearts online in viral video

A video of a police constable helping a physically challenged person stuck in the middle of a heavily waterlogged road during the rain on Friday has gone viral and garnered widespread public acclaim.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police often attracts negative attention on social media for causing traffic jams, issuing challans in the middle of the road and getting caught in heated exchanges with citizens. However, this video shows a different side of the police department.

The video shows a traffic constable, identified as Anil of the Byatarayanapura traffic police station, dressed in an orange cape, trying to help a physically challenged person cross the road. However, when the road is flooded up to the knees and the water is flowing fast, one has difficulty walking. The guard then lifts him onto his shoulder and carries him to safety.

Several social media users shared the video with captions such as “Heroes sometimes don’t wear capes”, “The other face of the police” and “When humanity wins”, among others.
