Commercial LPG rate hiked by ₹10 per 19kg cylinder ahead of Dhanteras, Diwali; ATF increased by ₹1.37/litre — Check Prices

State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the price of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by ₹10 to ₹2,820 for a 19 kg cylinder from Sunday, ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali, PTI reported.

The price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) also increased. ₹1.37/liter up to ₹138.50/litre, he added.

LPG cylinder prices have increased

In addition, the prices of commercial LPG – the cooking gas used in hotels and restaurants – have increased ₹10 per 19 kg cylinder up to ₹2,820, according to oil companies.

This is the second monthly increase in commercial LPG prices in a row. Prices were last increased by ₹62.50 per 19kg cylinder on 1st October. Before that, the rates increased by ₹9.50 on 1 September.

The two-month increases followed two consecutive monthly decreases ₹192 in August and ₹183.50 in July. The cut came after commercial LPG prices jumped to a record high in June due to disruptions in global energy supplies and increased international prices.

Commercial LPG prices have increased ₹1,373 per 19kg cylinder from February to June, from ₹1,740.50 to ₹3,113.50 before falling in July and August.

ATF prices have increased

Aviation fuel (ATF) prices have been increased to ₹138.50/liter from ₹137.12/litre in a fourth-month increase vj due to firm international rates and benchmarks, it added.

Prices have been significantly increased recently ₹16 per liter on October 1. Before that, ATF prices were increased ₹6.28 per liter from September 1 ₹5 liters on August 1. Jet fuel accounts for up to 40 percent of airlines’ operating costs, and price increases will further increase carrier expenses.

The price of domestic LPG does not change

Prices of domestic LPG used in households remained unchanged at the level ₹942 per 14.2 kg cylinder. Cooking gas prices have increased by ₹89 per cylinder from March to June after the crisis in West Asia led to supply disruptions and a sharp rise in international energy prices.

Gasoline and diesel prices, which were raised by approx ₹7.50 per liter in May also remained unchanged.

The latest changes are based on movements in international benchmark prices and the rupee to dollar exchange rate. ATF and LPG prices are revised on the first day of every month and may vary from state to state due to local taxes such as VAT.
